Grapefruit is so versatile, I’m really into trying some Grapefruit aromatherapy….”Grapefruit essential oil is anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, detoxifying, anti-depressant, immune boosting, skin-toning and mentally rejuvenating. It is used to treat acne, oily skin, cellulite, muscle stiffness, water retention, obesity, colds, flu, depression, headaches, jet-lag, stress and nervous exhaustion. It is good for use in a diffuser to disinfect a room…(*via)
Bottom of Our Food Chain Has Dropped 40 Percent Since 1950... -
This is a bit nuts to contemplate:
“It’s very disturbing to think about the potential implications of a century-long decline of the base of the food chain,” said lead author Daniel Boyce, a marine ecologist.
They include disruption to the marine food web and effects on the world’s carbon cycle. In addition to consuming CO2, phytoplankton can influence how much heat is absorbed by the world’s oceans, and some species emit sulfate molecules that promote cloud formation.”
Don’t push your creativity into a corner with your back to the room, stuck on a small desk. Give yourself space to create, and command that space beautifully.
PRESCRIPTION FOR OUTDOOR CHI ENHANCEMENT: these Do It Yourself coffee can lanterns are a perfect solution for the blah backyard. Thought its been a while since I’ve blogged one, I just love Design*Sponge DIY’s….
I must say, a wall of perfectly hung vintage oil paintings can be the start of a very fresh feng shui adjustment to add a ton of the element of wood and amplified energy in a room.
“I’ve never doubted myself, but I did have a few questions like “Maybe I’m just not supposed to be a painter.” But I swear that the reason I continued on, why I thought, “I’m just going to keep doing it anyway,” was because I’d had this loft since 1976 for $400. I had this really cheap loft and I didn’t have to kill myself to make rent payments, so I was obviously doing what I was supposed to be doing. I thought, “You’re so lucky with the space. You’re supposed to be a painter making work.” It was that clear-cut. I really believe in that serendipitous thing.” ~ Marilyn Minter on listening to life, persisting, and, finally flourishing in fame which began at an age where most people would have quit (after 50)… yeah, its pretty awesome all-round to read about Marilyn Minter and see there are no excuses to ditch your dreams!!
I was basically in a coma for 15 years, and then spent the next 10 being told I had nothing to offer, so by the time so-called success came along, I had the tools to stay right-sized. — Marilyn Minter on the trajectory of her (finally) wildly successful career

What I’m Doing Besides a Ton of Feng Shui’ing: of course, since I seem to critique to death magazine photos of home interiors, my karma is that I landed a job styling those same interiors for those same magazines. but, of course, my way (to the greatest degree possible…!) is a bit different, and i have a lot more at stake since, after all, i am the biggest “feng shui” critique-er.
That said, have to take a day-long blog-cation today. i’ll miss you guys today, but there are over 300 pages of great stuff to read to keep you busy while i’m gone. see you tomorrow!!! xxxx
