Shepard Fairey knows how to attract attention and make a statement. I am always excited when I catch a new poster on my blog, or see him nonchalantly strolling the streets. His new studio building is pretty big and bold, which, again, gets me excited.
However, what Mr. Fairey missed was how to position his employees in an empowered manner. Rather than have them facing the interior of the space, they stare at mountains of his work with no sense of what is creeping up behind them. A quick yet tricky fix is to put a mirror beside each person’s station so they can see behind them, as well as delineating a bit of personal space/personality for everyone present.
